Meet Eden! two weeks ago a stranded, black, puppy was found on the beach in Tel Aviv. She was only 4 weeks old. Moshe, Itay's best friend, decided to take her in and find a home for her. Later that day, Itay called me to tell me all about the little puppy him and his friends had found. As I listened to the story, something in my heart exploded and all I could think about was the poor puppy without a family. Little did I know this conversation would change my life forever. After careful thought, much conversation, some tears, debates and Shabat dinners, Itay and I decided to adopt the adorable, little Black Labrador Retriever and name her Eden. Maybe it is because I am here in Israel without my family that I felt the need to adopt Eden and give her a home. Or maybe it was her adorable puppy brown eyes that I couldn't get out of my mind, but either way, I knew that this little piece of heaven (Eden means heaven in Hebrew) needed a home and all I wanted, was her to be a part of mine. And this is how I found myself with a dog, in Israel, at the age of 24.
